Fowey Maritime Centre is an RYA recognised centre and a member of the Marine Leisure Association. We operate throught the year and enjoy a relaxed but safe environment where learning is fun.
During the week the instructor will guide your preparation to offer you best guidance to ensure all your skills and knowledge are up to date. We cannot however, perform miracles and you do need to put in some revision time beforehand both ashore and afloat.
The examiner can ask you anything out of the Sailing scheme and the exam duration will continue after the hours of darkness. The examiner will also expect to see a well prepared passage plan, normally across the channel. This can be done onboard during the week. Our instructor will probably nominate a passage for you dependent on the charts available, but shouldn't help.
All Yachtmaster and Coastal Skipper exam candidates should have the following ready for the examiner:

In addition to this a fee is payable to the RYA through the examiner, the fee structure is as below. A cheque is acceptable, although they prefer to take card details. They are not permitted to take cash as per guidelines laid down by the RYA.
